The Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas (CHAD) team has prepared the Uniform Data System (UDS) Databook annually for member health centers for the last six years. The databook shows trends and comparisons for patient demographics, payor mixes, clinical measures, financial measures, provider productivity, and economic impact. The databook includes health center-specific data, as well as state-level data. Where appropriate and meaningful, national UDS data, strategic goals, and other benchmarking data such as Great Plains Health Data Network (GPHDN) averages are compared.

One of the most noteworthy UDS trends across GPHDN members is a steady improvement in the hypertension measure. Check out more databook trends in the full story.

Federal Medicaid & Marketplace Updates
In Washington, the Senate is rapidly advancing the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) with significant cuts and changes to Medicaid and Marketplace coverage.   A vote is expected to take place before the July 4 recess.

CHAD recently met with staff from the offices of North Dakota and South Dakota Senators to offer insight as to how the Medicaid and Marketplace provisions in the OBBBA would impact health centers and the patients they serve, but they need to hear from you, too. NACHC’s action alert makes it easy to email Senators about the importance of protecting Medicaid for our patients, friends, family, and neighbors in the Dakotas. Can you take a few minutes to send an email to your Senators today?

Open House for Ray Urgent Dental Clinic
Northland Health Centers hosted an open house for the new Ray Urgent Dental Clinic on June 12. Kim Kuhlmann with CHAD attended along with several oral health and health partners from across the state. Sandra Fearing with the Williston office of Senator Kevin Cramer shared a letter of congratulations from Senator Cramer. Staff gave attendees a tour of the three dental operatories that are connected to the medical clinic in Ray. They moved equipment from the Turtle Lake location when Northland opened its new building there. The project to develop and open the new urgent dental clinic was a collaborative effort with several partners, including Quality Health Associates of North Dakota and the ND HHS Oral Health Program. This project was made possible with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota Caring Foundation.

Northland is recruiting for a dentist who can work full-time or part-time at the Ray location. If you know of candidates who may be interested, please direct them to CHAD’s health center career postings page.
